Well you know more Finnish then me. I only know a few words. I'm so afraid someone will start talking to me when I go to the stores with Petteri. I feel nervous to meet his parents, since they don't know much English. Petteri tells me not to worry, to just be myself, but I still can't help feeling that way. I do think the language sounds cool though.

The language is awesome. If someone talks to you at the store, just say "en ymmärrä suomea" So how was the meeting with his parents? I heard they got back today I need to learn a bit more for when I come again

Um, what does that mean? Does it mean, "I don't speak Finnish?" Or something similar? Besides I can't seem to prounce anything in Finnish and I'm afraid to try because I know I sound stupid. The meeting with his parents was fine... Actually his step-dad picked us up around the mall, and while waiting for him I was really nervous. But actually he said more English then I thought he would. His mom seems like a nice person. She even bought us some stuff from Lapland.

Hi, Sharifu, I hadn't noticed before that you joined here Nah, Finns aren't very talkative, and I don't think anyone will actively try to start a conversation with you During the last three years I've been using train maybe about twice a month, and only _once_ someone I didn't know before started to discuss with me during the train ride. In stores, about the only people I've talked to have been store clerks when I've bought something, or some familiar people I've met by coincidence. But other than that, people who don't know each other don't really start discussions here. The majority of people here know English, and they'll understand even if you just say in English that "sorry, I don't understand Finnish". And you're not the only one who's feeling nervous. I have some Australian relatives, and I always was really shy among them, I was so scared of using English IRL. I feared I'm pronouncing stuff in the wrong way and making a fool out of myself. It's not only you who's nervous about different languages

Um, what does that mean? Does it mean, "I don't speak Finnish?" Or something similar? "I don't understand Finnish" to say "I don't speak Finnish" would be "En puhu suomea" And you're not the only one who's feeling nervous. I have some Australian relatives, and I always was really shy among them, I was so scared of using English IRL. I feared I'm pronouncing stuff in the wrong way and making a fool out of myself. It's not only you who's nervous about different languages Nothing wrong in being wrong (if that makes sense ) We all have permission to make mistakes, it's called learning I can guarantee I'll make a twit of myself when I come over next month, because I'll try harder to speak more Finnish, and I will say something wrong I know it But I'm trying, and nobody can ask more than that

I'll post this in the English side of the board, too. Here are photos from the meeting we had today In some of the photos there are just animals from the zoo, and in some of them are Prideboarders. smg.photobucket.com/albums/v164/tintitys/pb_hesa/And for tiikeri or anyone else who wasn't around, this is who people in the images are. The photos are in the order I took them, but "inverse". Meaning, that you'll need to go to the last image of the last page of the album and start from there so that you can see them in chronological order. It was fun getting to see you, and hopefully we'll be able to meet again

I saw those pics Katikat posted. prideboard.proboards3.com/index.cgi?board=muut&action=display&n=1&thread=80&page=6#1152987385Heh, I found that topic by looking at STM´s profile, and the last posts he made. I wish I knew what you guys were saying. It was fun to meet you guys though... I would of talked more, but I still felt kind of shy because I only knew English. I knew you guys can speak English, but I just know it´s more comfortable for you guys to speak Finnish. It was nice though that you were talking to me Tintti. It would be cool to meet again sometime.

Hello everyone! I'm not very good in English, but I hope that you understand me. It will be so nice if someone would like to talk with me here. I think that I'm the only one here just right now. I love the Lion King and I have watch it 20 times. Please don't leave me alone!
